Australian fashion icon and epitome of all things tasteful, Maggie Tabberer, will guest host Channel Ten's Good Morning Australia for a month starting 9am Tuesday, October 5.
Regular host Bert Newton takes a short break from GMA during October to perform in the stage production of The Sound Of Music.
A two-time Gold Logie winner (1970-1971) and an original panelist on the early years of Beauty And The Best, Maggie fronted her own TV magazine show, simply called Maggie, from 1968-1970.
In 1992, Maggie presented the first series of the national lifestyle show, The Home Show. She continued with the TV show for four seasons before calling it quits to concentrate on breeding thoroughbred horses on her southern highland property.
Network Ten Program Director David Mott says he is delighted to have her at the network.
"We are delighted to secure someone of Maggie's experience and profile to the network. Although for a short period of time, she will be a magnificent stand-in for Bert on Good Morning Australia," Mr Mott says.
