It was back-to-back gold for Lisa McCune last night, when she
again won the coveted Gold Logie for the Most Popular Personality on
Australian television.
The Blue Heelers' favorite looked glamorous in a stunning red dress and elegant hairstyle. Earlier in the evening, she collected the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress, and celebrated with her co-stars as Blue Heelers won Most Popular Series, and the new Silver Logie for Most Popular Program on Australian television. Her on-screen beau Martin Sacks won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor.
Channel Ten received a much needed morale boost when Neighbours star Brooke Satchwell won the Most Popular
New Talent.
In other awards, Frontline won the peer voted award for Most
Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and Most Outstanding Series. This result
will no doubt please Channel Seven who have just begun to repeat the former
ABC show.
Some predictability crept into the evening as most of the popular awards
went to the same recipients as last year. If the night had an underdog,
then it was the ABC's Wildside which won Most Outstanding
Mini-Series/Telemovie and Most Outstanding Actor in Tony Martin.
Graham Kennedy was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame, but was not
present to collect the award.
