It almost sounds to good to be true. Michael Richards has inked a deal that will bring him back to NBC
America less than two years after the end of Seinfeld. But he won’t be reprising his Seinfeld character, Kramer.
According to Variety Richards plans to play a whacked out detective, similar to Peter Sellers (Pink Panther) or Lt. Frank Drebin (Naked Gun), in an untitled sitcom. The project has received a six-episode commitment, and teams Richards with three Seinfeld producing and writing alumni.
The network could debut the comedy as soon as March or April.
