Bob Downe, comedian and international cabaret star and Amanda Keller, TV and radio presenter, will host the 1999 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on Channel 10 at 8.30pm Sunday 28 Feb 1999.

Vanessa Wagner, one of Australia's most loved drag queens, will once again get close to the floats and spectators lining Oxford Street, while special guests will drop in for a chat and lend their support.

"We look forward to another rating's winning broadcast of one of Australia's premier events", David McLachlan, President of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras said today.

Following Ten's coverage of the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras will be a special program produced by E!News USA. It features some of the highlights of the more spectacular Mardi Gras' held around the world, including New Orleans, Rio and Venice.
