Jaws Still Has BiteFriday 21 July 2000 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
Twenty-five years after it scared moviegoers all over the world, Jaws is still biting hard.
The film, which was the first to earn over $100 million, has just been released on DVD, giving it a new lease on life.
Although it has been on the market for only a couple of days, Jaws has sold nearly 500,000 copies of its first release of one million. The first shipment alone is set to earn Universal approximately $25 million.
Jaws, which starred Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss, was Steven Spielberg's directorial breakthrough.
