Popular UK chef Jamie Oliver will swap Australian networks.
Previously seen on the ABC, Jamie Oliver will jump over to Network Ten later this year with two new series.
Ten concluded negotiations with Fremantle International Distribution for Jamie’s Kitchen and Oliver’s Twist 2 at the MIP-TV television festival in Cannes last week.
When it premiered on the UK’s Channel Four in 2002, Jamie’s Kitchen was the channel’s second-highest rating series of the year. It was recently recognized with the Channel Four International Documentary Award at the UK’s prestigious annual Indie Awards for independent television productions.
Jamie’s Kitchen comprises seven, one-hour episodes in which Jamie trains 15 young, unemployed Londoners as chefs to work in “Fifteen” – his new, non-profit-making restaurant in London’s East End. Jamie’s Kitchen follows the tribulations of the finalists who must train at Chef School while Jamie and his business team have just seven months in which to design and build their restaurant.
Like the first series of Oliver’s Twist, the second series follows the antics of the celebrity chef as he cooks up a storm at home for his friends. He also introduces us to some of the team at his restaurant, “Fifteen.” Oliver’s Twist 2 comprises 26, 30-minute episodes.
No exact starting date has been confirmed.
