Veteran soul singer James Brown will not face criminal charges over his latest alleged fiasco, as investigators in South Carolina cannot find enough evidence to prosecute the Godfather of Soul.

Last month Russel Eubanks, a utility worker called to the star's home, accused Brown of swinging a knife at him whilst holding him against his will. Eubanks claimed that one of Brown's security guards had to rescue him after confirming that Brown had been acting strangely recently.

Brown, whose hits include I Got You (I Feel Good) and Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, has released no immediate comment.
