Insider StuffThursday 3 July 1997 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
Rumours are being heard in the halls of the Seven Network
about a couple of changes taking place. Alan Bateman, the Sydney
station managing director and head of production (why he holds
both positions is still a mystery) may be changing positions. It
seems he may be moving into the Sports division to concentrate on
the 2000 Sydney Olympics. I though that was Tim Worners
domain. The other change being talked about concerns supervising
producer for Blue Heelers, Ric Pellizzeri. Talk is
rife that he will be leaving the series to become an in-house
producer for the network. Seven denies this but talk persists he
wants to leave the series.
What happened to Magda Szubanksis series Dog
Woman? It was supposed to be going into production and then
make its appearance on the Nine Network. Now the word is the
Simpson-Le Mesurier series are now bound for the Ten Network
along with their sitcom Merle. The Nine Network has
an overabundance of good shows with more in the wings and we all
know that the Ten Network needs all the help it can get.
