Network Ten has announced a new music show for their Saturday night schedule, to be hosted by Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum and Leah McLeod.
The House Of Hits will premiere on Saturday February 5 at 6.30pm and will mark Molly Meldrum’s departure from the Nine Network after 12 years.
“I am incredibly excited to be involved in what I think is a new era of music television,” Meldrum said. “The House Of Hits will give us the opportunity to promote and develop music and new artists, particularly Australian talent, and everyone knows I am completely passionate about this.
“At the same time I am personally very sad to be leaving Nine because over the past 12 years the network has been so supportive of me – it is like leaving family. Unfortunately however there is no vehicle at this time for me to do what I love with music, and although the decision has been very difficult, it comes down to the fact that I must follow the music, the industry I know best. I had 13 years with Countdown and 12 with Hey Hey and I look forward to the beginnings of a new era with Ten.”
Meldrum’s co-host on The House Of Hits will be former Channel V presenter Leah McLeod.
The House Of Hits will be a mix of about 3 or 4 live performances, video clips, interviews and news, closing with the ARIA Top 10 singles charts. It will be recorded live before a studio audience in Sydney.
