The Whitman's airship, that advertising blimp that hovers above major
Melbourne sporting events, was in a (near) mishap the other night
(Although the pilot insists that there was never any danger). The craft was
buffeted by strong winds and it lost altitude, forcing it to return to
Essendon airport.
On board, doing a live cross for In Melbourne
Tonight, was Steve Jacobs (ex-All Together
Now), and the incident made the nightly news on 29/9.
Channels Seven and Ten made no mention of I.M.T. or of
Jacobs being on board. (Why promote the opposition?) Channel Nine,
however, had the exclusive I.M.T. footage of Jacobs
inside the craft trying to stay composed, but clearly on the verge of
having an involuntary bowel movement. You didn't have to be a lip reader to
see him mouth the "S" word.
I wonder if we'll see more of this footage on next week's I.M.T.
