Man of the moment, Hugh Jackman, will host a live telecast of the Fox Studios Australia Grand Opening.

The special, to be broadcast on the Nine Network Sunday November 7 from 8.30pm, will include film stars Charlie Sheen, Carrie Fisher and Australia's own Geoffrey Rush.

Tommy Tycho and a 50 piece orchestra will support a cast of singers and performers. So far only boyband Human Nature have been confirmed.

Film director Gillian Armstrong will create a lavish performance reminiscent of Hollywood's golden years with a cast of hundreds.

Water Rats Steve Bisley and comedian Gina Riley will take viewers on a guided Fox Studios Backlot TV tour though replica sets of Water Rats, Home & Away, NYPD Blue and The X-Files.
