Two of the biggest attractions in Hollywood are returning to battle. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are reportedly kicking around Europe looking for the ideal location to shoot their new HBO/Dreamworks miniseries Band of Brothers. The project, which was inspired by a story similar to Saving Private Ryan, will feature the pair as a co-producing and co-directing tandem, and cost about $100 million to make.
Rumor has it Hanks and Spielberg will meet with officials from several countries including Ireland, England,
Czechoslovakia. No word yet which location the super duo is leaning toward, but all the countries are wooing the production with aggressive production incentives and meetings with high-ranking officials. Hanks and Spielberg hope to begin shooting Band of Brothers in March 2000.
