Amid reports that Footy Show star and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host Eddie McGuire is being wooed by Channel Seven to join their Sydney Olympic coverage, comes the even hotter rumour that he may be returning to his roots and co-hosting Melbourne's Seven Nightly News.
McGuire, currently enjoying success with his ratings winning Millionaire program, is said to be part of a massive shakeup in Seven's evening news broadcast in Melbourne. McGuire may be asked to join former Ten collegues David Johnston and Anne Fulwood at the newsdesk presenting the sports segment.
Eddie McGuire formally hosted Ten's 5pm sports segment whilst Johnston was hosting the same news service.
