With the news that Ten has secured the rights to all of Paramounts content, industry watchers are pondering whether the network's ailing showbiz gossip show, E!News will morph into a weekly addition of Entertainment Tonight, with a possibly insertion of the daily American version at 7.00pm weeknights.
E!News, hosted by blond bombshell Donna Gubbay, has been unsuccessful in establishing itself throughout 1998, even after a 4 week "rest period" where it had time to relaunch itself with a new-look.
Paramount's Entertainment Tonight has been a good performer for Channel Nine in its morning slot, and with the vacant 7.00pm slot available on Ten, we may see another "Judge Judy-like" move in the making.
