By now all of you who read the papers will have learned of Greg Evans double whammy of being sacked from his radio and television shows; both in the same week.
I had the opportunity to talk to Greg a couple of weeks ago during the running of the "Mountain Races" in Mansfield. He was talking about his going to Sydney that Monday to talk about his future at Ten and the cancellation of the current afternoon offering.
At no time did he think he was going to get the chop from the station on a whole. I can imagine it was quite a surprise. Then coming back to Melbourne and finding out that the station manangement at Gold-FM was sacking him, too!!
Greg is a pro and has been up and down during his long career. Yes, he has made some stupid career moves in the past and it looks like they may be catching up with him.
I only wish him the best, though, as he is a talented personality who needs the right setting and format. Talk show hosting was never one of his strengths.
