DiCaprio's Most WantedThursday 3 August 2000 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play a con man in DreamWorks' Catch Me If You Can.
Catch Me If You Can is the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr., the (in)famous lawbreaker known as 'The Imposter'. DiCaprio will play the criminal, who in the 1960's impersonated an airline pilot (and flew thousands of miles for free), a doctor, an assistant attorney general and a college professor who cashed over $6 million in bad checks in 26 countries before becoming the youngest person to ever grace the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List - all before he was 18 years old.
The film is based on the memoirs of Abagnale Jr., who after being caught became a consultant for the FBI.
Production is due to commence in March 2000, after DiCaprio wraps Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York.
