Cybill Shepherd has refused to count herself out of the presidential race in the United States.
The former TV star of the Cybill and Moonlighting, in Melbourne yesterday as part of her Australian cabaret tour, told the Melbourne media her thoughts on entering politics have only recently become more ambitious.
"I am looking at ways of serving the American people. I was asked to stand to put up the pro-choice side of the argument and things just started from there," she said.
When asked whether she would eventually run for president and become the first female president of the United States, she replied, "Well, we're talking about it aren't we? I think it is crucial that the next president is pro-choice".
Cybill also touched on her previous TV co-star and now box office superstar, Bruce Willis.
"We fought alot, Bruce and me," she confesses. "We see each other evey now and then. I saw him at some awards show and he was very keen to have a little role on Cybill. He said, have the writers come up with something, so they did. But he never did it. He was too busy. He got time to go on that other show, Mad About You, and that one with the very slim woman (Ally McBeal), but he was too busy for my show."
Still on Ally McBeal, "I would just like to see bigger thighs on television. Short skirts are OK, but with bigger thighs. The world would be a happier place."
