On Sunday November 30 at 8:30pm the ABC will bring us the Sunday Stereo Special: Madama Butterfly.
This timeless story of Puccini’s glorious and emotive score has made it one of the most popular and eduring operas ever written.
It stars Cheryl Barker (from Baz Luhrmann’s La Boheme and is conducted by Patrick Summers and features Jay Hunter Morris, Ingrid Silveus and Douglas McNicol. The show takes on a new life under the imaginative and passionate direction of Moffatt Ixenbould.
The show is being brought to us by Opera Australia and the ABC and is billed as an Esso Night at the Opera. It will be simulcast with ABC Classic FM.
