Ten will air the debut special 'Great Australian Dog of the Year' on Saturday November 27 at 6.30pm.
Hosted by Neighbours' Alan Fletcher (Dr Karl), the show will feature dogs from all over Australia who entered the competition and were selected as finalists by a panel of pooch-loving judges to make their first television appearance.
At the end of the show, viewers will be able to vote from a selection of hero, companion and community dogs, for the dog they think should wear the crown.
Hosting the show was an adventure for Fletcher.
"I've been kissed by a poodle in Toogoolawah, soiled by a heeler in Ballarat, chased by a basset in Carramindi and been serenaded by a cattle dog in Sydney - basically I've had the time of my life!".
