Well, we certainly know that summer is upon us. All you have to do is read the television guides for the upcoming weeks and you will see that a whole host of shows returns to our screens.
For some reason, the networks think that these show do not warrant showing them during the ratings period. I think if they took a long hard look at themselves they would realise that many of these shows rate in the US for a reason.
Anyway, order in the pizzas and get ready for a summer of some pretty good fare being offered.
Sabrina, The Teenage Witch
Sabrina comes back to Australia on Sunday November 30 at 6:30pm. Showing all new episodes, everyone's favourite apprentice sorceress returns under the watchful eyes of Aunt Zelda and Aunt Hilda. This show is a ratings hit in the US.
Clueless
Based on the hit movie with the same name the TV show is written and directed by Amy Heckerling, who was also responsible for the feature film.
The show is a gentle parody of the life and times of teenagers in Beverly Hills and stars Rachel Blanchard, who takes the part of Cher, the role that made a star of Alicia Silverstone.
Not a big ratings winner in the US but should prove to be a good follow-on after Sabrina on Sunday night at 7pm. It debuts on November 30.
Nash Bridges
One of my favourites is back on Monday December 1 at 8:30pm. Starring Don Johnson as Detective Nash Bridges and assisted by his crazy partner Joe, played by Cheech Marin, the San Francisco police drama picks up where it left off a year ago. Yes folks, it's been a whole year since we've seen the show.
The Sentinel
This show makes its return on Thursday December 4 at 9:30pm. It was a successful show in last year's line-up and should prove to be another solid performer again for Seven.
Starring Richard Burgi, Garret Maggart, Bruce A. Young and Mia Korf, the opening episode deals with drug murders and a local war between a bikie gang and a local arm of the Japanese Yakuza.
