Channel 9 Sitcoms Getting A FaceliftTuesday 29 June 1999 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
In the equivalent of getting their skin stretched as tight as drums, the 3
Channel 9 sitcoms Jesse, Veronica's Closet, and Suddenly Susan will be getting some "work" done this summer.

Word on the street is the American NBC network decided that instead of canceling the shows, they'd give each one a radical new look, adding and subtracting characters, in an effort to narrow focus and make them more appealing. Obviously, it would be hard to make any of them less appealing.
Christina Applegate's character, Jesse, will reportedly forge on, sans brothers and father, when she graduates from bar maid to nurse and takes a job in a doctor's office. Jesse will retain the Diego character, and keep its coveted
Thursday time slot.
In addition to being banished to Monday nights, Veronica's Closet and Suddenly Susan will most certainly see some changes. While VC's producers have axed Ron Silver (Veronica's boss on the show), Susan producers will fill the void created by Judd Nelson and David Strickland's early departures. No word yet on what actors will take the place of Nelson and Strickland, but we do know the fictional magazine on the show will take on a more male-oriented theme.
