After three years and over 500 episodes, Nine's popular game show Catch Phrase is being relaunched under the new title Burgo's Catch Phrase.
Commencing Monday, September 13 at 5.30pm, Burgo's Catch Phrase will feature a refurbished set and slicker graphics and will kick off with a home viewer competition with thousands of dollars worth of prizes up for grabs.
Host John Burgess says the relaunch is a huge confidence boost. "When it was first mentioned that the show was going to be called Burgo's Catch Phrase I was absolutely thrilled. It is nice to know Channel Nine have confidence in me and the program and I look forward to continuing for some time to come."
Nine Network Director, John Stephens, said: "John Burgess is a legend in the world of game shows. Our research shows that Burgo's hosting role on Catch Phrase is responsible for attracting a significant number of additional viewers to the program each afternoon than if somebody else was hosting the show. It makes sense to include his name in the title of the new-look program."
Catch Phrase consistantly beats Seven's Wheel Of Fortune in the major markets of Sydney and Melbourne, and occasionally comes in number one against Channel Ten's News in both these markets.
