The Nine Network announced today that the 1999 Carols By Candelight telecast will be hosted by Glenn Ridge and Jennifer Keyte. Eddie McGuire was first slotted into the host position after Ray Martin pulled out, but he has now been ditched for unknown reasons.
The annual event, held at Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Christmas Eve, will be the first time Ridge and Keyte have hosted a show of this magnitude, and will take over from Ray Martin who has hosted Carols for the past decade.
Ridge, host of Nine's Sale Of The Century, and Keyte, presenter of the lifestyle program Good Medicine (and former Channel 7 newsreader), are both excited with their new roles.
"I've had the pleasure of going to Carols By Candelight so I know how special it is for families all over the country," Jennifer says. "I am really excited to be part of such a beatiful night".
GTV9's Managing Director, Ian Johnson, acknowledged Ray Martin's involvement in the show.
"I would like to thank Ray Martin for his tireless work on Carols over the past decade. He has been a wonderful ambassador for the telecast".
