Calista Flockhart's latest movie, Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her, is going straight to television, minus a cinema release.

The Ally McBeal star is reportedly very disappointed with the news, especially since the film was so well received at both the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals. Apparently MGM, the studio behind the film, feared the chatty 'chick flick' would be lost amidst the testosterone-fuelled action blockbusters.

The movie also stars Glenn Close, Holly Hunter and Cameron Diaz.
