Former Beatle George Harrison is believed to be staying at his secret hideaway on Hamilton Island. Harrison, a Formula One fanatic, is here for the Melbourne Grand Prix, and will shortly travel down for the race.
The Quiet One will again live up to his reputation and make the trip a low key one. On previous visits to Australia to see the race, he avoided the media and successfully blended into the background. Only sharp-eyed photojournalists managed the odd snapshot of him mingling with the F1 crowd.
Unfortunately for Beatle fans, he is unlikely to appear on Hey Hey or IMT during his visit; but if the PR people at Madame Tussaud's touring exhibit got their act together, they might be able to coax him into a photo shoot with his wax effigy currently on display. That would at least make the news, and give the deprived Aussie fans something (Mmmm! good title for song).
