Baywatch Hawaii is in big trouble.
According to USA Today, the 'Boobwatch' creator, Greg Bonann, has asked the state of Hawaii for $2.5 million in cash to keep production on the island. This is in addition to the $6 million the show received last year to move the show from LA to Hawaii.
Baywatch was in a location bidding war between Australia and Hawaii early last year, with Australia missing out due to protests by local residents.
Baywatch was once the most watched syndicated show in the world. In the past year, the show's viewership has dropped dramatically from 1 billion in 1994 to just 100 million in 2000.
