Back To The Drawing Board, Jennifer Love Hewitt!Thursday 17 June 1999 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
America's Fox Network recently sent Jennifer Love Hewitt's new show back to the drawing board

The Love Hewitt project was originally intended to precede its predecessor,
Party of Five, in the Wednesday night line-up. However, Fox changed their minds not too long ago, opting to schedule Time of Your Life before Ally, presumably to create a groundbreaking "anorexic Monday" line-up.
As network indications go, this certainly is not a good one. According to a (hopefully sober) source, Fox executives claimed the pilot was too quirky, saying the Time Of Your Life debut needed to "undergo a change in tone so that it can stand on its own" as an Ally McBeal lead-in.
So what's the deal? Isn't Love Hewitt's face plastered all over an hour's worth of television enough, damn it? Chris Keyser, Co-executive Producer and damage control expert, said the show plans to "cram more storylines" into the pilot, which is much sooner than intended. He also added that the goal is to "take the same story and speed it up a little bit."
Sounds like Co-executive Producerspeak for: Love Hewitt's face plastered all over an hour's worth of television is not enough. Maybe actually having a story to tell is important to networks after all.
