Axe falls on Midday, IMT?Friday 6 November 1998

Industry sources are questioning the likely return in 1999 of two Channel Nine variety programs - Midday with Kerri-Anne (pictured right), and Melbourne based variety show IMT.
Midday, which was once recreated daytime viewing in the 70's under the helm of Mike Walsh, has been given a run for its money this year by Channel Ten's new talk-show The Roseanne Show. The cost of producing the Midday show (compared to what Ten pays for the pre-packaged Roseanne show) is believed to be a reason for its no-show in '99.
The Midday Show website has also been turned into a Packer subscription page for NineMSN.
IMT has regulary placed 3rd in this years ratings, and is not expected to be given a 3rd year.
