A nationwide search is underway for five unknown girls willing to risk everything in their desire to become the next all-girl supergroup.

The bold initiative has been comissioned by the Seven Network to form the basis of a television docu-soap called Popstars.

The series begins with auditions of young hopefuls in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The 13-part series will screen early next year on the Seven Network.

The group's career will be managed by Australian management company GTM with the girls having access to choreographers, coaches, songwriters and record producers.
