Nine Network sports reporter Amanda DePledge will join Nightline as sports presenter from Monday, July 5.

In this permanent role, DePledge will join the Nightline team - presenter Jim Waley, political commentator Paul Lyneham and reporters Hugh Riminton and Mark Barlin.

"Amanda will play a vital role in allowing us to expand our coverage of sporting events, and the personalities involved," says executive producer Jim Carroll.

Prior to joining Nine as a sports reporter, DePledge was with Network Ten where she reported for Sports Tonight and was also part of the network's team covering the Commonwealth Games in Canada in 1994.
