ABC Joins Breakfast TV War With RugratsFriday 20 August 1999 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
From Monday 6th September, the ABC will be showing children's programs from 7.00am, including the popular cartoon Rugrats.
Mornings on the ABC are traditionally targeted at the pre-schoolers. Programs starting at 7.00am will still be pre-school friendly, but also appeal to the older children.
"We'll continue to provide high quality children's programs in the morning, as we do during our programming for the rest of the Day" says ABC Children's Programmer, Virginia Lumsden.
The morning timeslot on TV has seen a revival this year, with Channel Seven also launching the slick children's show The Big Breakfast.
