The Nine Network screened more Australian programs in 1998 than any other network, according to figures released by the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA).
In 1998 the Nine Network screened 65.16 per cent Australian programming between 6.00am and midnight, above the ABA's minimum 55 per cent Australian quota.
While all commercial television networks increased their Australian content during 1998, Nine's overall performance was above that of the Seven Network (58.16 per cent) and Ten Network (56.12 per cent).
In terms of evening viewing (between 5.00pm and midnight), the Nine Network screened 63 per cent Australian programs, compared with 55 per cent for the Seven Network and 48 per cent for the Ten Network.
