60 Minutes has scored the rights to the first Australian screening of Monica Lewinsky's interview with UK's Jon Snow, airing Sunday March 7 at 7.30pm on the Nine Network.
The former White House intern talks candidly of her affair with President Clinton and how his impeachment trial has turned her into the most scandalous figure of our times.
The interview, to be screened in 25 countries, is with distinguished journalist Jon Snow. Snow emerged afterwards saying: "She is very fired up. Anything you would want to ask, I asked her. It ranged from the salacious to the constitutional.
"She was brilliant and very moving in detailing how she was effectively raped by the American constitution. It probably would have been more convenient for all concerned if she had had a breakdown and ended up in an institution somewhere." He states.
The interview, recorded in the Lewinsky family's New York apartment, ison of only two Lewinsky has given for television. The other, with journalist Barbara Walters, is for American audiences only and was conducted with rigid restrictions on what could be and could not be discussed. In comparison, Snow's interview is broad-ranging and brutally frank.
