$50 Million 6-Part Mini-Series In WorksThursday 8 July 1999 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
It's not very often that a network spends upwards of $50 million dollars on a six-hour mini-series. Of course, how often does a network get a chance to blow May sweeps out of the water with a high concept vehicle based on the book series Dinotopia?
 | | Above: How this will translate on ABC, we have no idea.
|
Answer: Mot very often.
ABC America will initially air the project, while Hallmark Entertainment will produce the project, which marks the network's biggest financial commitment since 1988's 30-hour War and Remembrance. The Dino-based mini-series will most likely debut in May 2001 (and kick some serious sweeps bootay).
Simon Moore (Gulliver's Travels, The Tenth Kingdom) will handle the writing duties.
